This question gave headaches to teachers around the world as the possibility of computer-base teaching machines because a reality in 1980. It is still a problem educators grapple with in 2013. Because I had been watching people of all ages encounter their first computer I thought it would be useful to consolidate and publish what I had observed. Two of LO*OP Center's Board members, Stuart Cooney and Paul Christianson agreed so we approached the national educational laboratory when Paul worked for funding. The document below is the result.
